Woman Killed In Philadelphia Fire Thursday Morning

A woman died after a fire broke out at a property on the 6200 block of Ogontz Avenue early Thursday morning, according to police.

PHILADELPHIA — A woman died in a Philadelphia fire early Thursday morning, according to authorities.

First responders were called to the 6200 block of Ogontz Avenue at about 4:40 a.m. for a report of a fire with people trapped in a structure, police said.

When emergency personnel arrived, they found the woman, possibly in her 60s, unresponsive on the first floor, according to Action News and police.

She was pronounced dead at 4:52 a.m.

A neighbor of the deceased woman described her as a "really nice person," NBC10 reports.
