The project will cause major midday disruptions for several months.

Commuters who use Valley Forge Road (Route 23) will face serious midday disruptions beginning a week from Monday.
A letter to area residents from the water company explains the plan and what to expect:
As part of our continuing infrastructure improvement program, Aqua Pennsylvania will install a new water main on the following street in Schuylkill Township, Chester County

The $2,511,000 project is scheduled to begin the week of September 23, 2013 and will involve the installation of 7,100 feet of 24-inch ductile iron main, and 200’ of 8-inch ductile iron main, replacing the existing 16-inch and 8-inch cast iron mains.
We expect the main installation and individual service connections to be complete in December.
The final paving restoration will be complete in the spring of 2014. The work hours for the project will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The road will be closed in the area of construction during working hours. A detour will be in place for all work on Valley Forge Road between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The road will be open to normal traffic before 9 a.m. and after 3 p.m.
Access will be provided for essential services including emergency vehicles, school buses, and mail and trash service. Residents and businesses will have access to their properties. Point of access will change based on crew location. We will notify you 24-hours in advance of a scheduled shutdown.
