Christa Fazio Named Director Of Chesco Intermediate Unit

Fazio, a longtime experienced public relations director, joined the unit's leadership team.

DOWNINGTOWN, PA - Christa Fazio said she is honored and thrilled to join the leadership team of the Chester County Intermediate Unit as the new director of communications, marketing and engagement.

Fazio replaced Mary Jeanne Curley, who retired as the director of communications and learning solutions in the first week of January 2024.

“The legacy of excellence and commitment to education that the Chester County Intermediate Unit embodies is inspiring,” Fazio said. “It is with immense gratitude that I take on the responsibility of spearheading communication efforts for such a distinguished educational institution.”

The unit provides services to 12 districts in Chester County, including public and private school students, in special education, and career, technical and other customized education.

Dr. George F. Fiore, executive director for the unit, said the unit looks forward to Fazio’s contributions to enhancing our organization’s community relations.

Fazio has dedicated nearly a dozen years to supporting public education, including experience at Tierney Communications, Philadelphia, and as the director of communications and community relations for the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District.

She also worked as the coordinator for the Penn-Delco School District in Delaware County, where she launched the district’s social media presence and focused on establishing enhanced community engagement.
