Devon Train Station Sidewalks Getting Facelift
The state awarded $200,000 to Easttown Township for sidewalk and crosswalk construction near Devon Station.

EASTTOWN, PA — Easttown Township was awarded a $200,000 state grant for upgrades to the sidewalk and crosswalk near the Devon Train station, 1 N. Devon Blvd., state Rep. Melissa Shusterman announced Friday.
Shusterman, a Chester County Democrat, said the help that the state provides goes a long way in helping the people of Chester County.
The station, located in the heart of the Main Line, was built in 1883.

The station is on the R-5 line, which extends about 40 miles from Center City Philadelphia to Thorndale in Chester County. The route is also known as the “Paoli Local.” The station is also near the grounds of the Devon Horse Show, which begins May 25.
The train stops include Overbrook, Merion, Narberth, Wynnewood, Ardmore, Haverford, Bryn Mawr, Rosemont, Villanova, Radnor, Wayne, Devon, Berwyn, Paoli, Malvern, Exton, Downingtown, and Thorndale.

The funding comes from the state’s Multimodal Transportation Fund and the state Local Share Account Program, which provides revenues from casinos to support local projects.
