​Elizabeth "Betty Ann" Doan: Charlestown Realtor, Mom, And Volunteer

Doan was a Philadelphia Eagle fan, avid reader and animal lover.

CHARLESTOWN, PA —Elizabeth "Betty Ann" Doan, 86, of Charlestown passed away on April 25, 2023, in Chester County Hospital.

She was born on February 11th, 1937, to Peter and Elizabeth Traynor in the Bronx, New York City, New York.

Doan graduated from Rider College, where she earned a degree in journalism, wrote for the Rider News, and was president of Eta Upsilon Gamma Sorority. She was awarded the Faculty Wives Club Award for her contributions to the college.

She worked as a realtor and kept many of her clients as lifelong friends.

She was an avid Eagles fan and an avid reader. She loved Horses, Great Danes, needlepoint, and puzzles.

She was a member of the North Wayne Protective Association and volunteered her time with The Saturday Club in Wayne and at Radnor High School.

Betty Ann is survived by children Elizabeth, Laura, Monica, and John, and grandchildren Brandon and Holly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; many friends and relatives; and the many dogs and animals she loved and raised.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Thursday, May 4, 2023, at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA, followed by her Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m.
