Great Valley Choir Performs at Capital Building

Members of the Great Valley Middle School choir were invited to Harrisburg by State rep. Duane Milne.

The Great Valley Middle School Select and Patriot’s Choir were invited to sing at the State Capital Building in Harrisburg last week as part of the Music In Our School’s Month celebration.

State Rep. Duane Milne (R-167) invited the group to perform on the capital steps on March 16. According to music teacher Paige Seaton, the students were treated to a tour of the capital building, spent time on the House floor and had lunch with Milne. Music In Our School’s Month is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME).

“ Meeting Representative Duane Milne created a memorable day for the students,” said Seaton. “Select and Patriot’s Choir represented Great Valley Middle School with a fantastic performance on the iconic steps in the Rotunda of the State Capital Building.”
