Home-Invasion Slaying Of Chesco Teen Lands Man Behind Bars
A 31-year-old Reading man pleaded guilty to third-degree murder in a drug-related home invasion in 2017 in North Coventry.

WEST CHESTER, PA - A 31-year-old Reading man was sentenced Monday to 15 to 30 years in state prison for his role in the 2017 home invasion slaying of a 17-year-old boy who was trying to protect three young children in a North Coventry apartment.
Juan Ortiz-Encarnacion pleaded guilty before Chester County Judge David F. Bortner to third-degree murder in the fatal shooting of David Doyle III of the 700 block of Worth Boulevard.
Investigators said Doyle tried to block young children from three masked men who entered the apartment on Sept. 24, 2017.

Doyle died as a result of a gunshot wound to the stomach, according to medical officials.
Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan said Doyle was a hero who died protecting the children, ages 9, 8, and 3.

The shooter, Ricardo Rivera, 29, of Reading is serving life in prison after being convicted of second-degree murder. Police said he fired two shots at the victim.
The getaway driver, Jonathan Malave, 38, of Reading, is serving a sentence of 17 to 34 years in state prison after pleading guilty to third-degree murder for his role in the slaying
A fourth defendant, Anaye Raggazino, 36, of Phoenixville is awaiting the disposition of her case.
