Local Great Grandmother Dies in Home Where She Was Born

The Phoenixville High graduate was 90.

Lorraine (Readman) Knauer, 90, wife of the late Robert H. Knauer, Sr., of Mont Clare, PA, died on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 in the same home in which she was born.

Born in Mont Clare, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mary (Keehn) Readman.

She was a 1941 graduate of Phoenixville High School.

Lorraine was an active lifetime member of Otterbein United Methodist Church in Mont Clare. She was President of United Methodist Women, she sang in the church choir, was a soloist, played the piano, and was a Sunday School Teacher.

She had a great sense of humor and was a fantastic Pennsylvania Dutch cook.

Son, Lloyd R. and wife Mona Knauer of Mont Clare, PA;
Son, William Knauer and wife Cathy Hixson of Linfield, PA;
Son, Robert H. Jr. and wife Donna Knauer of Mont Clare, PA;
Son, David Knauer of Mont Clare, PA;
Daughter, Lorene and husband Kevin McCorkle of Oaks, PA

2 Granddaughters, Amanda Knauer and fiancee Pete Mourar
Stephanie Knauer;

Great-Grandson, Dalton Mourar;

Many Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by Brothers and Sisters:
Clarence Readman, Jr., Faith Wadsworth, Alra Readman, Iris Readman and Melva Blatt and longtime friend and neighbor, George Drevyanko.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service in Otterbein United Methodist Church, 181 Walnut Street, Mont Clare, PA, on Monday, October 7, 2013 at 10:30 am.

Burial will follow in Green Tree Cemetery, Oaks, PA.

A viewing will be held in the Devlin Rosmos Kepp & Gatcha Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 517 S. Main Street at Fourth Avenue, Phoenixville, on Sunday, October 06, 2013 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm , and in church on Monday morning from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to Otterbein United Methodist Church, 181 Walnut Street, Mont Clare, PA 19453.
