PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Officials are weighing a new proposal to redevelop the site of the former Rite Aid in Phoenixville as a drive-through car wash.

A presentation was given at the recent borough Planning Commission meeting by Spotless Carwash, which hopes to build up the site on 200 Kimberton Road.

The plan calls for 13 exterior vacuum spaces, an interior car wash, and various other "site improvements and stormwater management accommodations," representatives for the company and an attorney told the borough.

While there were several small issues that the sides are still ironing out, the back and forth between officials and developers was more cordial than such meetings often are, and the board commended the Spotless team for their cooperation.

Specifically, Spotless said they will work with the borough on building sidewalks, ADA ramps, and landscaping, as well as ensuring pedestrian safety in the area.
