PECO Reports 231 Without Power At Noon Today In Chesco

Forecasters are predicting thunderstorms in Chester County again late this afternoon.

CHESTER COUNTY, PA —PECO is responding to 901 outages as of noon Monday in eastern Pennsylvania in the wake of severe thunderstorms Sunday night and forecasters are predicting more thunderstorms this afternoon in Chester County.

A total of 213 customers in Chester County are without power, which includes 44 in East Brandywine, 19 in Schuylkill, 25 in Upper Uwchlan, 35 in West Chester, 29 in Tredyffrin, eight in Uwchalan, West Vincent, and West Whiteland townships.

PECO crews were out early Monday morning restoring power through the Philadelphia region due to a heavy thunderstorm Sunday.

Madison Davis, a PECO spokeswoman, said power is expected to be restored within several hours.

A total of 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rain fell in Chester County on Sunday night, according to Tom Hines, senior meteorologist with Acc-weather.

Winds were at 70 mph, Hines said.

Hines said the strong thunderstorms are likely to occur again today.

“Keep an eye out for storms,” he said. “The humidity is high and we are dealing with deadly thunderstorms.”

In the meantime, PECO crews are also working to restore 238 outages in Delaware County, including 77 in Upper Darby and 31in Thornbury.

PECO also reports 193 in Montgomery County; 234 in Philadelphia; and 43 in Bucks County.
