Phoenixville Borough Police Log: March 13 to 27

Police said the report is to inform the public of the criminal activity and the suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

PHOENIXVILLE — Phoenixville police reported criminal activity in the borough, including a woman arrested on charges of grabbing a police body camera that became dislodged when an officer was breaking up a fight and denying she had it, and a man being arrested on charges of trying to gain entry to a resident though breaking a window.

Destiny Corum, 21, Pottstown, is awaiting a preliminary hearing after being arrested on March 27 on charges of theft and receiving stolen property on March 19 in the 100 block of Bridge Street.

Police said they were breaking up a fight when an officer’s body camera was dislodged and then recovered by Corum. Corum denied having the camera but was later found in her possession, according to police.

Michael Skinner, 31 of Phoenixville is free on $25,000 bail awaiting a preliminary hearing after being arrested on March 18 on charges of criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness, after police responded to a residence in the 2000 block of Eland Downe where Skinner attempted to gain entry through broken out windows.

Public drunkenness

Police said arrests for public drunkenness have picked up to the same level as they were before the pandemic broke out in March 2020.

Police reported eight arrests for public drunkenness in the two-weeks:

  • A 32-year-old male of Phoenixville was cited with public drunkenness after officers responded to a disturbance on March 13 at a business in the 300 block of Bridge Street.
  • A 27-year-old female of Phoenixville and a 28-year-old female of Malvern were cited with public drunkenness after officers on March 17 found the pair intoxicated to the point that they could not care for themselves in the 200 block of Bridge Street.
  • A 22-year-old male of Pottstown was cited March 21 with public drunkenness and disorderly conduct after causing a fight on March 19 in the 100 block of Bridge Street.
  • A 44-year-old male of Phoenixville was cited March 21 with public drunkenness after he stumbled away from a drunken driving crash where he was a passenger.
  • A 33-year-old Phoenixville man was cited March 21 with public drunkenness after officers found him stumbling along the Schuylkill River Trail.
  • A 59-year-old Phoenixville man was cited March 22 with public drunkenness after officers observed him stumbling in the 800 block of Cherry Street.
  • A 49-year-old Norristown man was cited March 26 with public drunkenness and disorderly conduct after officers observed him violently banging on a door to a closed establishment in the 100 block of Bridge Street.

Drunken Driving

The individuals were arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit if 0.08%

  • Sandra Crooks, 26, of Phoenixville.
  • Michael Rogers, 50, of Phoenixville, combination of alcohol and marijuana.
  • Eduardo Mazariegos, 26, of Phoenixville.
  • Abilio Lopez Garza, 43, of Phoenixville.
