Phoenixville Fire Department will be out for First Friday to remind everyone it's Fire Prevention Week, so make an escape plan.
PHOENIXVILLE, PA — October's First Friday in Phoenixville isn't just for dining; the Phoenxiville Fire Department will be at the corner of Bridge and Main streets to remind everyone of fire prevention.
The Fire Department will take over the municipal parking lot at Main and Bridge streets from 6 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 1 to help Borough residents "Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety," the theme of this year's Fire Prevention Week, Oct. 3-9. Firefighters will help visitors identify sounds from smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, and create fire escape plans, in conjunction with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
The Department reminds everyone that Fire Prevention Week is a great time to test all of your smoke alarms and practice family escape plans and to test smoke alarms each month.
