Phoenixville Health Care Access Director Tracy Shantz Retires

Renae Bierer is promoted to new executive leader at the end of May

PHOENIXVILLE —Tracy Shantz, executive director of Health Care Access since its inception in 1999, is retiring at the end of May.

Shantz took the nonprofit from one children’s dental program to five health programs serving Phoenixville area community members of all ages with dental, vision, prescriptions, mammograms and immigration services.

“It is with a deep sense of accomplishment, gratitude, and pride in what we’ve accomplished together at Health Care Access that I retire,” Shantz said. “It has been a privilege these past 22 years to be executive director. It is simply time. My heart is full.”

The nonprofit’s board of directors announced that Renae Bierer will take over as executive director. Bierer has been assistant director for 15 years.

“I look forward to continuing and building new relationships with the wonderful community and nonprofits of Phoenixville,” Bierer said.

Since 1999, Health Care Access has been connecting uninsured and underinsured residents of the Greater Phoenixville area with specialized health care services.

Health First is located at 100 First Ave. , Phoenixville.
