Phoenixville Woman, Mother Mourned After Fatal Crash
Jackie Hefelfinger was struck and killed last week while crossing the intersection of Route 113 and Route 23.
PHOENIXVILLE, PA — The Phoenixville community is mourning a local woman and mother who was struck and killed by a vehicle last week as she attempted to cross an intersection that has become increasingly problematic in recent years.
Jackie Hefelfinger was struck at the intersection of Route 23 and Route 113, in front of the McDonald's, on Sept. 5.
She was helicoptered to a nearby hospital, but her injuries were too severe.

"After being transported via life flight in critical condition, doctors assessed her condition and due to her extensive injuries the difficult decision was made to discontinue life sustaining measures," her son, Kristopher Foster, wrote in a GoFundMe.
Jackie died on Sept. 6, less than 24 hours after the crash, at 2:13 a.m.

Police have not yet released any details on the incident nor on any arrests, and it's unclear what, if any, criminal charges may be pursued.
A total of $3,740 had been raised as of Tuesday morning to help Jackie's family with funeral expenses. Service details will be announced in the coming days.
