Police: Man Driving Wrong Way in Borough Arrested for DUI

Police say the incident occurred on December 7.

A Phoenixville man was arrested for DUI earlier this month after police say he was driving the wrong way on a one-way street in the borough.

According to court documents, on December 7 at 1:41 a.m., a Phoenixville Police officer on patrol witnessed a vehicle exit westbound off Walnut Street and make a right on Bridge Street. The stretch of Walnut the vehicle was traveling on is eastbound only.

The officer stopped the driver, Dominic Tammaro, 25, on the 300 block of Hall Street. Tammaro, according to the affidavit, smelled like alcohol and had glassy, bloodshot eyes. His movements were slow and lethargic and when the officer asked if he had had anything to drink, he admitted that he had “a couple beers.”
