Phoenixville Borough Council unanimously approved a plan to construct a carwash and Starbucks in the 1000 block of Nutt Road.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Tommy’s Car Wash and Starbucks are coming to a seven-acre tract next to Phoenixville Plaza after plans were unanimously approved by Phoenixville Borough Council Tuesday.
The property is the site of the Kmart at the 1000 block of Nutt Road, which closed in 2020.
The project, called "Phoenixville Plaza Pad-Sites” calls for improvements including sidewalks, landscaping, and stormwater management on the property.

A timeframe for when the car wash and Starbucks will open is unclear. The property is adjacent to a self-storage facility and has a vacant 400-space parking lot. The plan also includes providing a connection to the French Creek Trails and to Nutt Road.
Debra A. Shulski, an Exton attorney representing the developer, Arnold Anderson, of Nutt Road LP, asked the board to approve the final plan, which has been under review since December.

Shulski noted that the township planning commission has endorsed the plan.
The preliminary plan also calls for including an electric vehicle station, 14 vacuum stations, 13 parking, and a public sidewalk
Anderson said Starbucks would provide drive-through service to the customers, noting Starbucks will bring in more customers to the adjacent shopping center.
The car wash is all glass and recycles the water in a pit under the carwash. He said the carwash typically cleans 300 to 350 a day.
