Upper Providence Officers to be Honored for Saving Woman's Life

A trio of Upper Providence Police officers who’s quick thinking revived a woman from cardiac arrest will be recognized for their heroic actions at the township’s December 3 Board of Supervisors meeting.

According to Upper Providence Supervisor Lisa Mossie, on August 18, 2012 officers Ryan Sheehan, Eric Smith, and Jeff Hilt responded to a medical emergency on South Trappe Road. On their arrival, they found a woman in cardiac arrest.

The officers evaluated the victim's status and working together utilized an automatic external defibrillator and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation to regain heart activity and respiration.

The officers’ quick and decisive actions saved the life of the victim—who has since recovered.
