West Chester University on Alert After Weekend Assaults

Two attempted robberies and a rape were reported between Thursday and Saturday by university officials.

Two separate reports of attempted robbery near the campus and one report of rape in a dormitory over the weekend has West Chester University officials cautioning students, according to 6abc.com.

A university spokesperson told reporters that no money was taken during the robberies, when an unknown assailant demanded money, hit the victims and ran off.

Philly.com reports that the first robbery occurred Thursday night at Sharpless and Darlington streets, the second Saturday at East Nields Street and Sharon Alley.

The spokesperson told philly.com that the rape happened Friday night at one of the dormitories, and the victim and suspect knew each other.
