Singing for a Cause: Kean Quest Announces Adult Vocal Winners

Got a great voice? There is still time to register for the age 18 and under vocal preliminary rounds.

Vocal contestants ranging in age from 19 to 60 took to the Kean Theatre stage Friday night to vie for the coveted title as Kean Quest Talent Search Champion of the adult round in the competition held in Richland Township.

Jason Albert of Butler and Johnny Richards of New Brighton were the Judges’ Choice and Audience Choice winners respectively in the 2013 Kean Quest Talent Search Adult Competition.

Albert played guitar and sang “Dearly Loved” by Jimmy Needham while Richards also played guitar and performed “Fire and Rain” by James Taylor.

Each received a recording package with Audible Images, a photo session with Rick Armstrong and a feature story in Northern Connection Magazine.

Jim Roddey, former Allegheny Chief Executive and St. Barnabas spokesman, was the event’s emcee.

Nick Bramlett of Pittsburgh was selected as first runner-up at the competition and the quartet Studio 4, comprised of Don Dressler of North Huntingdon, Keith Harker of Forest Hills, Nathaniel Fessler of Bloomfield and Harrison King III of Carnegie, were the second runners-up.

Altogether, there were 16 performers participating in the 2013 Kean Quest Talent Search Adult Competition, which benefits the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund.
