Summit on Improving Water Quality, Communities, and Habitat

The Buffalo Creek Confluence - coming together for shared solutions.

Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania (ASWP) and the Buffalo Creek Coalition will host the Buffalo Creek Confluence, a summit that brings interested parties together to discuss improving water quality, communities, and habitat within our region. Topics to be covered include green stormwater infrastructure, roadside invasive species management, native plant solutions, bird-friendly communities, collaboration, and funding options.

The event takes place December 7, 2023 from 9 am – 4 pm with participation online or in person at Buffalo Creek Nature Park (154 Monroe Road, Sarver, 16055).

  • Mary Ellen Ramage, Etna Borough Manager, “Creative Approaches for Improving Water Management and Livability:
  • John Dawes, Foundation for Pennsylvania Watersheds Executive Director, “Protecting and Improving Pennsylvania’s Waterways: A Message of Hope”

This program is offered at a discounted cost of $20, which also includes breakfast and lunch; online attendance is free. Funding is generously provided by the Foundation for Pennsylvania Watersheds, Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Growing Greener Fund, and Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Environmental Stewardship Fund.
