Welcome to Pine-Richland Patch!
We are Pine-Richland's new online daily news source, dedicated to bringing you information about Pine and Richland townships.
We want this site to encourage conversations about local happenings and issues – as if you were sitting in a virtual town square. We'll cover the news and invite you to comment on the latest issues, ranging from what goes on in Pine and Richland governments to how Pine-Richland High School teams are faring to new businesses opening in town.

We cover only Pine and Richland townships -- no other towns. With two municipal governments, a great school system, low crime rate, beautiful parks, new housing developments and a plethora of interesting people, we have plenty to cover without leaving our borders.

We also have ways for you to get involved in our community. We want to match people with and write about the interesting things volunteers are doing to make Pine-Richland a better place.
But we can't do it alone. We want you to contribute to this site. If you see news in your neighborhood, share it with the community by uploading photos and videos or creating an announcement. Do you have an event you want on our calendar? You can add that, too.
And I'm your guide through all of this as editor of Pine-Richland Patch.
For 30 years, I have been working as a journalist for newspapers and magazines across the country. For the past two years, I have written freelance stories about the Pine-Richland community for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, as well as writing for other Western Pennsylvania publications.
