Wexford Volunteer Fire Company Celebrates 100 Years

The event planning committee did a fabulous job in putting together a classy night for members & guests to reflect on the 100th anniversary.

Our members and honorable guests gathered on the evening of November 6, 2021, to celebrate 100 years of service for the Wexford Volunteer Fire Company. The event planning committee did a fabulous job in putting together a classy night for members and guests to reflect on the 100th anniversary. From a bagpiper to a presentation of the colors by the Adams Area Color Guard, to beautifully decorated memorial tables for fallen members, all the details were covered.

Special recognition was given to multiple members during the banquet. Here’s a list of the members and their achievements:

Special Citation presented by State Senator Lindsay Williams
Bill Zunic for service to the community and the oldest surviving member of the Wexford VFC

Special State Citation- Dee Voll
Dee was the first female firefighter of the Wexford VFC

Special State Citation- Elizabeth Voll (posthumous)
Elizabeth Voll served as a dispatcher for the Wexford community prior to the 911 system. The award was presented to her children who are all life or past members- Dee, Donald, Larry, and Richard.
