What’s Open, Closed on Independence Day in the Pine-Richland Area

Township and government offices are closed.

Happy, Birthday, America!

Today, the United States celebrates its independence from Great Britain. Many of us will do this with picnics, cookouts, fairs and, of course, fireworks.

Here’s a list of what’s open and what’s closed in the area for the holiday.

Closed

Both the Richland and Pine municipal buildings will be closed. The Northern Tier Library also will not have hours on July 4. 

The Pine Community Center also will be closed

The Pine Richland Youth Center will be closed July 4-7.

The Port Authority of Allegheny County will operate its bus, T light-rail and incline service on holiday schedules Wednesday.

The authority's customer service line will operate from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but its Downtown Service Center will be closed in observance of Independence Day.

What's Open

Treesdale Community Center: There will be lap swimming from 9:15 to 10 a.m. Yoga/pilates will take place at 9:45 a.m. at the Cider House. There also will be the Series 2 swim lessons

Grocery Stores: The Market District in Pine Township will operate on normal hours. The Giant Eagle in Richland will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. The McGinnis Sisters in nearby Adams Township will close early Thursday at 6 p.m. 

Cranberry Cinemas: The Fourth of July is a great time to catch a summer blockbuster. 

Convenience stores: Hey, they're called convenient for a reason.
