UPDATE: Watch Upgraded to Warning; More Snow Predicted for Pine-Richland Area

The snow is expected start Sunday evening.

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the entire Pittsburgh region, including the Pine and Richland areas, beginning 8 p.m. Sunday through 11 a.m. Monday.

Forecasters say the snow will be most intense from midnight Sunday through the pre-dawn hours of Monday, accumulating 4-8 inches before ending by Monday afternoon.

A Winter Storm Warning means that heavy snow will make tavel dangerous. If you must venture out at all, use extreme caution.

Here's a more detailed look at the forecast:

  • Sunday Night: Snow, mainly after 11 p.m. The snow could be heavy at times.  Low around 29. East wind 9 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100-perecent. New snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.
  • Monday: Snow, mainly before 4 p.m. High near 40. Northeast wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
  • Monday Night: A chance of snow showers, mainly before 8 p.m. Cloudy, with a low around 27. North wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
