Big Lots Rebounds, Reopens Many Stores: See PA Locations

PENNSYLVANIA — The Big Lots re-emergence is continuing.
Two hundred and nineteen stores are reopening in four phases, with the third having taken place on Thursday. Among the reopenings were 10 Pennsylvania locations. Variety Wholesalers purchased the 219 stores after Big Lots declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
“The Big Lots stores opening in May show our continued commitment to providing the best value to our customers with apparel for the family, everyday needs for the home, kitchen, and pantry plus a huge selection of famous brands,” Lisa Seigies, president and CEO of Variety Wholesalers, said in a news release.

Here are the Pennsylvania locations reopening:
- 2431 Columbia Blvd., Bloomsburg
- 3437 Simpson Ferry Road, Hampden Township, near Camp Hill
- 467 W. Penn Ave., Cleona, Lebanon County
- 5522 Shaffer Road, Du Bois
- 156 Eagles Glen Plaza, East Stroudsburg
- 2215 W. 12th St., Erie
- 697 Allegheny Blvd, Franklin
- 1241 Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East, Lehighton
- 820 Water St., Meadville
- 2611 Ellwood Road, New Castle
As recently as December, Big Lots had 64 locations across the state.

Nine Big Lots stores reopened in April, with another 49 on May 1 and 76 locations reopened on Thursday. Dozens of more stores will reopen in June.
Founded in 1967, the company operated in its infancy as Consolidated International and operated closeout and discount stores under a variety of names. In 2001, the various store names and company were converted to the single national Big Lots brand.
