Longtime Pittsburgh-Area Restaurant Ending 7-Decade Run

A restaurant and bar that's been serving loyal patrons since 1953 is going out of business.

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, PA — It's time to bid farewell to a restaurant and bar that has been a neighborhood institution since 1953.

The Anchor Inn on Freeport Road is closing its doors. The popular spot announced the move on its website.

"After over seven decades in the community, the Anchor Inn has decided to close. Our last day will be Friday, May 23, 2025," a message on the website stated. "We would like to thank the community for their many years of patronage and memories, and we hope to see you one last time before our final goodbye."

Until its closure date, the Anchor Inn's hours will be Monday through Friday from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Last call will be at 7:45 p.m.
