Oakmont Prepares To Host U.S. Open Next Year

OAKMONT, PA — The U.S. Open doesn't return to the Pittsburgh area until 2025, but merchandise for the event already is on sale.

The USGA announced that Oakmont Country Club has opened a gift shop that's already offering U.S. Open merchandise, KDKA-TV reported.

The course, regarded as one of the nation's most difficult, will host its 10th U.S. Open next year. Oakmont already is scheduled to host the U.S. Open in 2033, 2042 and 2049.

The U.S. Women's Open will be played at Oakmont in 2028 and 2038. In 2032, the club will host its first Walker Club matches, pitting America's best amateurs against amateurs from Great Britain and Ireland.
