OAKMONT, PA — Rite Aid may be gone as a business, but its former stores still exist as empty reminders of the defunct drug store chain.

One of those empty spaces is about to be filled. The former Rite Aid on Allegheny River Boulevard in Oakmont is being converted into a Dollar General.

Adam Hagerman, a member of York-based Bennett Williams Commercial Real Estate, announced the move in an Instagram post.

"One of many former Rite Aids we’ve been leasing. Oakmont is an incredibly tough suburb of Pittsburgh and we started tracking this Rite Aid during the 1st bankruptcy, the post stated. "When we got wind in April of Bankruptcy 2 looming, us and the team @dollargeneral jumped into action to see what we could figure out. Excited to see this store open early next year!"

Several vacant Rite Aid locations have or are being filled by various other businesses.
