Oakmont Woman Who Killed Stepdaughter Sentenced

PITTSBURGH, PA — An Oakmont woman has been sentenced after being found guilty of first-degree murder in connection with the death of her three-year-old daughter.

Laura Ramriez, 31, was sentenced to life in prison without parole and an additional 37-74 years in prison for killing Bella Seachrist, the Allegheny County District Attorney's office said.

Bella died in 2020 after being abused and starved, police said.

The girl's father, Jose Eduardo Salazar-Ortiz, Sr., was sentenced to up to 66 years after being convicted of third-degree murder and other charges.

Ramriez's sister, Alexis Herrera, is also charged. She is set to go on trial in January.
