Two high-ranking borough officials were among those killed in the massive blast on Saturday.

PLUM, PA — All five people killed in Saturday's house explosion on Rustic Ridge Drive now have been identified by family members and borough officials. Two borough employees are among the victims.

The dead include:

  • Heather Oravitz, the borough's director of community development, who co-owned with her husband the home that exploded. Her husband remains hospitalized in critical condition, according to multiple reports.
  • Casey Klontz, 38, and his son, Keegan Klontz, 12.

"I don’t have words.," Casey Clontz's sister, Ashley, posted on social media. "This is a nightmare that I just want to wake up from. The outpouring of love and support from everyone is overwhelming and we appreciate everyone more than you will ever know."

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office has not officially identified the victims.

The cause of the explosion remains under investigation, although the Allegheny County Fire Marshal's Office said Monday that the Oravitz residence was having hot water tank issues.
