Plum School District Superintendent Resigns

Superintendent Brendan Hyland has stepped down to take another position.

PLUM, PA — The Plum Borough School District has announced that Superintendent Brendan Hyland has resigned. Hyland will become the new North Allegheny School District superintendent effective June 30.

“During his tenure, Dr. Hyland and his administrative team have made great strides in making sure that our students achieve their greatest potential, and that the district measures these outcomes and strategically plans for the future," district officials said in a statement on Sunday. "We thank him for his efforts, expertise and commitment and wish him and his family the very best.”

Deputy Superintendent Rick Walsh will become interim superintendent on July 1.

“Dr. Walsh is a proven and accomplished leader in education, school safety, and policy development,” district officials said in the statement. “This will ensure a seamless transition to our superior education standards and goals."
