Amazon To Open Robot Warehouse At Whole Foods In Plymouth Meeting
The new mini-warehouse, offering groceries and Amazon items for easy pickup at Whole Foods, will be run robotically.

PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA — Amazon will add a "mini warehouse" operated robotically to its Whole Foods store in Plymouth Meeting, the company announced during a press event Wednesday.
The local market will be among a first small group of similar robot warehouses tested around the nation.
Amazon says the addition will allow customers to shop for groceries online and have their orders fulfilled and bagged by automation in the mini-warehouse. Customers can then pick up their orders as they check out.

Orders can be placed either on Amazon's website or through their existing grocery ordering service, Amazon Fresh.
This will allow shoppers to order big brand names that aren't typically carried at Whole Foods, like Pepsi and Kellog's products, while also selecting from Amazon's general online offerings.

These mini warehouses will offer more than groceries, and will include other basic home needs, clothing, sporting goods, and supplies.
An exact opening date was not announced for the new robot warehouse, but Amazon said they expect it to open some time in 2025.
