Days after rescuing a palm-sized kitten from a storm drain, Conshohocken police officers responded to a call of a nest of baby rabbits that appeared to have been left alone.
The mother had not returned to the babies for more than 24 hours, and without her protection, they stood little chance.

Conshohocken police "carefully gathered them" from their nest and took them to the renowned Schuylkill Wildlife Center.
At the center that specializes in wounded and abandoned wildlife, police said, the bunnies will "receive the specialized care they need to survive and grow."
