Conshohocken Company To Lay Off 72 Employees

A WARN notice filed with the state's Department of Labor revealed the cuts.

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — A Conshohocken compnay plans to lay off 72 employees over the coming weeks, according to a WARN notice filed with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor.

The cuts are being made by Universal Protective Services, a part of Allied Universal Security Systems.

It's not yet known exactly what is spurring the layoffs, and the company has not issued a public statement about the situation beyond the WARN notice mandated by the state.

A Philadelphia Business Journal report notes that the company is simply "phasing out" some of its positions.

The layoffs are effective on a series of dates throughout the summer, including May 19, 23, and 30, June 6, 20, and 27, July 11 and 18, Aug. 8, 22, and 29, and Sept. 12.
