CONSHOHOCKEN, PA – April 27 – Conshohocken Rowing Center (CRC) athletes took home the gold in the Women’s U19 Varsity Quad at Cooper Cup, battling tough competition and even tougher conditions with extreme wind cancelling many of the day’s finals. The win continued their streak of podium finishes in a women’s quad in every race since the team’s creation in September.

Eight CRC rowers participated in the day’s events with each qualifying for an A final, but finals in the men’s and women’s doubles and singles were cancelled by the regatta for safety reasons due to high winds. Medals in cancelled finals were awarded based on time trial finishes with CRC’s Graciela Preetam and Piper Konz winning bronze in the Women’s U19 Varsity Double, and Emiko Kubach winning silver in the Women’s U17 Single. Awarded fourth place were John Hiester and Rainer Arendt in the Men’s U19 Varsity Double and John Walish in the Men’s U17 Single.

The Conshohocken Rowing Center Junior Competitive Race Team is comprised of 12 high school rowers from across the region who were selected for their dedication, achievement, and performance on and off the water.
