The Friends of the William Jeanes Memorial Library presented their annual check in the amount of $2,000 for the Nancy Corson Creative Writing Fund to Library Director Lisa Clancy, MLS during the Friends Annual Meeting on March 9, 2023.

The Friends of the Library established the Fund in 2012, in honor of the former long-time Friends board member Nancy Corson who had a passion for writing. Nancy was an active member of the Friends, serving as Membership Chair and maintaining the membership records for many years.

Monies from the Nancy Corson Creative Writing Fund have supported Book and Poetry Writing endeavors. Since its inception the fund has evolved to include teen and adult writing programs and workshops in addition to children's writing programs. Members of the public are welcome to make contributions to the fund, which is managed by the Library.
The Friends group was founded in 1950 and is a separately incorporated nonprofit. To learn more about the William Jeanes Memorial Library and Nicholas and Athena Karabots Center for Learning and the Friends of the Library organization, visit jeaneslibrary.org.
