'Good Trouble Lives On': Anti-Trump Montco Protest Set This Week
"This is more than a protest, it's a moral reckoning," organizers said.

EAST NORRITON, PA — A national day of protest and nonviolent action will be come to East Norriton this week as local residents gather in protest of President Trump's administration and what they describe as attacks on human and civil rights.
The "Good Trouble Lives On" event is named for a famous quote from the late Congressman John Lewis, a prominent leader in the civil rights movement and a legislator for decades.
The event will take place on Thursday, July 17 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on West Germantown Pike and Stanbridge Street.

"From voter suppression bills like the SAVE Act to the criminalization of protest, the Trump administration is launching a full-scale attack on our civil and human rights," organizers said. "But we know the truth. In America, the power lies with the people, and we’re rising to prove it. This is more than a protest, it’s a moral reckoning. A continuation of the movement Lewis helped lead, and a new front in the struggle for freedom."

The July 17 date was selected as it is the anniversary of Lewis's death in 2020.
Organizers said they expect all participants to embrace the nonviolent principles advanced by Lewis and championed by the movement, and that protesters should seek to "de-escalate" any potential confrontations with those who disagree with them.
Participants will also be collecting Visa gift cards for families in Norristown impacted by ICE raids.
