'Intelligent Transportation Systems' To Be Installed In Montco
Several roadways will see lane closures next week as work gets underway.

Road closures will be place this week around Montgomery County as intelligent transportation systems are installed and other key upgrades and improvements are made.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will close lanes of I-476 and other area highways overnight from Aug. 11 through Aug. 22.
Closures will be in place from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

In Montgomery County, I-476 will see lane closures from I-76 in West Conshohocken to I-95 in Ridley Township.
Lane closures will also impact I-476 north between Germantown Pike East and Plymouth Meeting (Exit 19) and Germantown Pike – West/Plymouth Road (Exit 20).

Portions of U.S. 30 west will also be restricted between Sproul Road and the I-476 overpass.
It's part of a larger $63.7 million project to improve the 17 miles of roadway. In addition to the installation of ITS systems, I-476 will be milled and lines will be overlaid, rock slopes will be stabilized, sound walls will be repaired, and signage and guide rails will also be improved.
