Man Cited for Open Container Violation, Driving with Suspended License After Joshua Road Crash

The man and his passenger, both of whom have DUI-related license suspensions, had open containers of beer in the vehicle, according to police.

Whitemarsh Township Police cited two men after an early-morning crash on Jan. 27 on Joshua Road and Stenton Ave, after open containers of beer were found in the car.

The driver, Michael Beno of Blue Bell, was also charged for driving with a DUI-related license suspension.  His passenger, Randall Pepper of Warrington, also has a DUI-related license suspension, according to police.

When officers responded to the crash at 12:20 a.m., they noticed two open cans of Busch Beer and a partially opened 12-pack in the vehicle with Beno and Pepper, both 56, police said.

Beno, the driver, allegedly smelled like alcohol, and failed two of three field sobriety tests.

According to police, Beno, 56, blew a .037, which is below the legal limit. Beno was not arrested for DUI.

Beno’s vehicle was towed, and Beno and Pepper were transported back to Beno’s home.
