Man Threatened To Blow Up Police Station In 911 Call Before Plymouth Incident: DA
Before running over an officer repeatedly, the man said he wanted to blow up a station and kill police officers, the DA said.

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, PA — The man who repeatedly ran over a police officer and injured another in Plymouth Township last month had threatened to blow up a police station earlier in the day, according to authorities.
The new details emerged as an investigation into the incident cleared an involved officer in his use of force, authorities announced. While the outcome is not surprising, as police said the suspect ran over an officer multiple times even as he called for help, the investigation is mandatory when the use of lethal force by law enforcement is involved.

Dalton Lee Janiczek, 21, of Lower Gwynedd, had apparently called 911 earlier in the day on Oct. 24 in the midst of "several incidents" involving his Mercedes G-Wagon, the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office said.
During the call, Janiczek told the operator he wanted to blow up a station and kill police officers, according to authorities.

Shortly thereafter, an officer tried to pull over Janiczek on Skippack Pike in Whitpain Township, where he was sharply swerving, officials said.
Janiczek fled at a high rate of speed, crossing the concrete median on Skippack Pike to escape, according to police.
Police then tracked him to the Double Tree Hotel in Plymouth Township, which is where he ran over one of the officers several times, and where the officer shot at him, authorities said.
Janiczek then then drove head-on into a patrol vehicle a few blocks away, injuring a second officer before being captures, police said.
“This defendant used his vehicle to attempt to kill a Plymouth Township police officer and left him very seriously injured in a hotel parking lot with numerous bystanders in the area,” Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said. “The police officer shot at the driver of the vehicle to end the threat to his own life and to end the threat to bystanders in the area. Our investigation determined the facts of this case supported the use of deadly force by the police officer.”
Both officers were hospitalized. One has been released, while the other continues to recover.
Janiczek was charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault among other charges and remains at Montgomery County Correctional Facility awaiting his next court appearance.
