Check out a few events happening this week in the Plymouth-Whitemarsh area.

Whitemarsh Township’s municipal building will be closed today due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

The Greater Plymouth Community Center in conjunction with the Girl Scouts will be hosting a volunteer day of service project on Martin Luther King Day. They will be making pillow cases and quilts for children at various hospitals. Last years event was very successful and we plan on having an even more successful year this year. If you have interest in donating material, have a girl scout that may be interested in volunteering, or are interested in volunteering in general, please contact Shawn Mazei at 610-277-6122, or at smazei@plymouthtownship.or

The Plymouth Township Zoning Hearing Board will meet Monday, Jan. 20 at 7 p.m. in the township building’s auditorium.

The Whitemarsh Board of Supervisors will meet Thursday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. at the township building on Germantown Pike.

The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education, at 8480 Hagy’s Mill Road, Philadelphia, will host its Saturday Wellness Walk on Jan. 25 at 2 p.m. Get out of the house with an invigorating walk along the Schuylkill Center’s trails. The walk will be at a moderate pace along one of the center’s wider trails. The walk is for adults only and is free to members; $5 for nonmembers.
