Patricia Murphy, Teacher, of Lafayette Hill

Patricia (Cunningham) “Trish” Murphy, of Lafayette Hill, died suddenly Sunday, Oct. 27 in Chestnut Hill Hospital. She was 74.

Born in the Mount Airy section of Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Charles P. and Catherine Wynne Cunningham.

Murphy was a former teacher and graduated from the former Raven Hill Academy in Philadelphia, St. Mary’s College and received her master’s degree in elementary education from Chestnut Hill College.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years Robert E. Murphy Sr.; a daughter, Maura M. Zimmerman of Horsham; three sons, Robert E. of Flourtown, Martin C. of Minneapolis, and Charles W. Murphy of Lafayette Hill; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen C. Roney.

Her funeral Mass will be held Thursday, Oct. 31 at 11 a.m. at Saint Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill. Interment will be private.
