McGee had also recently been honored by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania for his work on that case, which culminated with the arrest and prosecution of the bank robber, later identified as Richard Boyle of Bucks County.
In February 2020, Boyle, then 60 years old, was sentenced to 71 years in federal prison for his string of bank robberies in the region. His crimes were similar in scope to infamous bank robbers like John Dillinger, and the team of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow.
McGee worked with federal agents on the straw hat bank bandit case, and while he was assigned to the special investigation unit with the FBI he also helped to catch several people who had been involved in a string of cellphone store robberies in the Delaware Valley, according to Plymouth Township.
Lastly during the township council's recent meeting, local officials recognized Plymouth Township police officer David Phillips for winning the Lt. Joseph P. Rosko Montgomery County SWAT Officer of the Year Award.
