Building Inspector Replaced in Plymouth Township
The township's contract with Remington Vernick & Beach is terminated as of March 1; Keystone Municipal Services is the new provider.
Plymouth Township Council voted 3-2 on Feb. 11 to replace current third-party building inspector Remington Vernick & Beach Engineers, of Conshohocken, with Keystone Municipal Services, of Morton, Delaware County.
The head of Keystone Municipal Services, Richard T. O’Brien, will be designated as the township’s building code official under the act, according to Councilman Dean Eisenberg.
Council President Sheldon Simpson voted for the replacement, along with members Eisenberger and Lenore Bruno.

“Township council members have had numerous complaints of professionalism and time delays on projects due to the current company and felt it was time to have a change,” Simpson told the Times Herald. “We felt we would give [Keystone] an opportunity to do a better job.”
Council members Vince Gillen and Maria Weidinger voted against the motion.

“Remington was doing a great job,” Gillen told the Herald.
The services will be performed at 80 percent of the inspection fees, according to Plymouth Township Solicitor Thomas Speers.
The council approved the appointment, but the contract is subject to the approval of Speers.
