Power Still Out In Some Montco Towns Hit Hard By Wed. Storms
Intense storms blew through the region Wednesday, causing power outages, flooding and hail in some eastern Montgomery County towns.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Intense storms that brought flooding and even hail to the region Wednesday hit parts of Montgomery County particularly hard, with some residents reporting that power was still out as of this morning due to the band of extreme weather that blew threw Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Social media threads yesterday evening and this morning were filled with residents from the region questioning anticipated timeframes for a return of electrical power, while others showed off photos of deep flooding and hail that appeared to be the size of ping pong balls falling from the skies in some places.
A resident of Valley Road in Plymouth Township posted on Facebook around 7:30 this morning that homes there were still without power, and that PECO announced it should be restored around 4 p.m. today.

Another commenter posted that they received no word from PECO when power would possibly be restored to homes on nearby Chelsea Road.
Portions of Glenside, which sits within both Abington and Cheltenham Townships, were also reportedly still without power as of this morning.

Abington Township posted on its Facebook page that numerous roads had been closed yesterday throughout the township due to the weather. It stated that numerous traffic lights were out at intersections and that township public works personnel were working to clear debris from a number of storm drains.
There were also reports of damage caused by felled trees due to high winds, with NBC 10 Philadelphia reporting that one home in Blue Bell sustained roof damage due to a tree that came down because of the storms.
The weather has since turned nicer, with lower humidity in the region and temperatures falling.
