Route 309 To Be Repaired, Resurfaced Over Coming Months
The ten mile stretch of the highly traveled road will be replaced with a smoother and safer riding surface, officials said.

WHITEMARSH, PA — A 10 mile stretch of Route 309 will be repaired and resurfaced in Whitemarsh, Upper Dublin, and Springfield over the coming months.
The project will begin on Monday, Aug. 12 and will continue through mid-October from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each day.
Bituminous material will be used "to seal the roadway and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface," PennDOT said.

Backups and delays are expected, officials said.

- Route 309 (Fort Washington Expressway) between the Susquehanna Road and the Springfield interchanges
- Route 309 (Fort Washington Expressway) ramps at the Route 73 (Church Road) Interchange
- Route 309 (Fort Washington Expressway) ramps at the Pennsylvania Turnpike Interchange
- Route 309 (Fort Washington Expressway) ramps at the Highland Avenue Interchange
- Route 309 (Fort Washington Expressway) collector road between the Pennsylvania Turnpike and the Highland Avenue interchanges
