Three Philly Men Allegedly Return to Home Depot for More

The men allegedly stole from the store on three separate occasions in January.

Plymouth Township Police arrested three Philadelphia men after they allegedly tried to steal about $800 in merchandise from Home Depot on Alan Wood Road … and the three allegedly stole from the store twice earlier this month.

Herman Westcott-Havens, 20, of the unit block of Armat Street; Alvin Butler, 46, of the 2600 block of Glenwood Avenue; and William Earl Dougherty, 23, of the 2700 block of Garnet Street, were arrested Jan. 16 shortly before 8 p.m. at the store and charged with felony retail theft, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy after they allegedly attempted to conceal $798 worth of merchandise.

According to the criminal complaint, a Home Depot loss prevention officer said the three defendants were in the store on Jan. 13 at about 6 p.m. and added that they were each seen concealing merchandise from the tool corral valued at $1,220; all three men left without paying for the merchandise, according to the complaint.

The loss prevention officer also said in the complaint that all three defendants were in the store on Jan. 9 at about 8:30 p.m. In this incident, the three allegedly stole about $1,169 worth of merchandise by concealing it.

None of the defendants appears to have a criminal history.
