Vandalism Reported at St. Paul’s Church in Ft. Washington

An employee reported that chains blocking the church's driveway have been routinely damaged over the past month.

 

An employee of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Fort Washington reported several cases of vandalism to chains in the church parking lot, according to the Whitemarsh Police Department.

WPD officers were called to the church, located at 440 Bethlehem Pike, on Jan. 31 around 11:30 a.m.

St. Paul’s caretaker Kevin Remailey told police that, over the course of the past month, someone has been damaging chains that block the driveway to the church's parking lot on Lafayette Ave.

Remailey said that initially, only the chain was stolen. After he fixed the property, the chains and bolts were damaged twice.

According to Remailey, the vandalism occurred less than 24 hours after the repairs were made.

The total cost of the damage is roughly $300, according to police.
