PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, PA — Video has emerged from the scene of the incident last week where police said a Plymouth Township police officer was repeatedly run over by a 21-year-old man in a Mercedes G Wagon.

The incident took place at the Double Tree Hotel in Plymouth on Friday, Oct. 24.

The video was taken by bystanders at the other end of the parking lot who watched horrified as the Mercedes, which police said was driven by Lower Gwynedd resident Dalton Lee Janiczek, backed out of a parking space at a high rate of speed and smashed into the officer's patrol car.

Janiczek's motivations in the attack remain unclear. He went on to drive his vehicle head-on into a different Plymouth Township patrol car just moments later, injuring a second officer, authorities said. He was taken into custody moments later.

Both officers were taken to the hospital, where they are in stable condition.

Janiczek is a student at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, where he competes on the men's rowing team, according to his student biography. He is also the son of highly regarded attorney Lee Janiczek, a partner at a top Philly law firm called Lewis Brisbois.

Janiczek has been charged with attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, aggravated assault, and related counts. He was booked at Montgomery County Correctional Facility with no bail. A preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 4.
