VP Candidate JD Vance To Campaign In Montgomery County Tuesday

LAFAYETTE HILL, PA — Just a day after former President Trump held a town hall style event in Oaks, his running mate JD Vance will make a public appearance in Lafayette Hill, organizers announced.

Vance will take part in an event organized by the conservative political action group Moms for America. It will be held at the Union League Liberty Hill in Lafayette Hill.

"We will engage in meaningful discussions about the challenges we face, from rising costs of living to the importance of protecting women’s sports," the organization said. "To ensure safe communities, it’s essential to stop the rising crime epidemic, and to secure our border. As we unite to address the pressing issues of our time, we’ll become part of a movement that champions not just our families, but the future of our country."

The event is being labeled a "MomVote Townhall." It will be Vance's first visit to the Philadelphia suburbs this campaign cycle.

Visits from Trump and Vance within two days underscore the importance Republicans place on Montgomery County to winning the White House. The third most populous county in the state has had very high voter turnout in recent elections, and suburban Philadelphia voters could help sway the state in either direction.

In reaction to Vance's planned visit, Democrats issued a statement attacking the Trump-Vance ticket.

“Trump and Vance’s Project 2025 agenda would be a disaster for Pennsylvanian women, from banning abortion nationwide – including in Pennsylvania – to threatening access to IVF and contraception," Onotse Omoyeni, the Pennsylvania Rapid Response Director for Harris for President, said in a statement. "There’s only one way to stop him: make our voices heard at the ballot box and rally behind Vice President Kamala Harris, who will protect our freedoms, lower costs and be a president for every American.”

President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will also be in Philadelphia on Tuesday night for a guest appearance at a Philadelphia Democratic Party dinner.

Vance's event runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday night. Doors open at 4:30 p.m.

The Union League Liberty Hill is located on 800 Ridge Pike in Lafayette Hill.
